Anonymous asked: love your work Jimmy, you are one of my inspirations. Wondering if I could possibly get some feedback on one of my tracks from you?
thnx very much.
sure, send over a link or something but please dont ask me to give you feedback if you just started making music because it may be harsh/honest. honestly, you should trust your best friends judgement over me any day. think about your goals and then imagine how to achieve them, youll soon find they were always right there in front of you.
Anonymous asked: Hi Jimmy! I respect your talent and how grounded you seem to be. What are your thoughts about DJs who act differently around their real friends in social settings, huge events and the like?- they even act like they don't know you sometimes. Can you relate to that? x
thnx for the message, ist appreciated. perhaps this is a testament of being humble, ive just arrived back to my hotel after a gig in milan and i’m taking the time to reply to this.. no big thing for me.
i also dont like when people have a chip on their shoulder and act like they are above… though weve all been guilty of it. i think even people have mistaken this about me when actually i’m just shy and awkward sometimes and i’d rather wait for someone to say hello. also, there are expectations for dj’s and musicians… i cant tell you how many times i’ve gotten something like “youre much nicer than i thought youd be”.. which brings up another conversation i had with chris clark about that topic. that person is essentially saying “had you been more of a dick, i wouldve accepted it”. anyways, its a case by case scenario and peoples definition of “friend” isnt always the same.
